The Danube School event in Novi Sad will take place in the context of the Capital of Culture program. The event will last two days and will be dedicated to the linguistic and literary heritage of Vojvodina.

About the event
The aim of the seminar is to make visible the shaping and reshaping of identities in processes of demarcation and
processes of demarcation and intertwining. In addition, the history of Vojvodina and the experience of upheavals - the collapse of the Habsburg Monarchy, the interwar period as one of nationalist radicalization, the escalation of violence during the Second World War, the fate of of minorities, autonomy in the socialist era and its abolition - from several perspectives.
The seminar will use literary and cinematic treatments of historical events to open up to open diverse perspectives on the common history. There should be representations of a regional diversity as well as conflicts. Literature and film offer a symbolic in which historical intersections can be examined and discussed.
